INFORMATION ON SECURITY OF REMOTE SUPPORT

 

All communication between Carolyn's Bookkeeping & Training Service [CBTS] and you [the Client] is transmitted through secure HTTPS protocol. To ensure complete security and confidentiality of transmitted data,CBTS uses industry-standard 128-bit SSL encryption technology Secure Sockets Layer). This very same technology is used to maintain the privacy of online banking transactions and nearly all other payment processing services on the Internet. It guarantees the highest level of reliability and is regarded as the industry standard for the aforementioned types of transactions, thereby ensuring the highest level of service which you deserve. CBTS uses SSL Certificates issued by the Comodo Group. This Trusted Authentication Authority is compatible with all modern browsers.

SSL is the standard security technology for creating an encrypted link between a web server and a browser. This link ensures that all data passed between the web server and browsers remains private and integral. SSL is an industry standard used by millions of websites in the protection of online transactions with their customers. Technically, SSL protocol provides an encrypted link between two parties. A simple procedure of establishing a connection link by means of HTTPS and SSL can be further described as the set of the following actions: Your browser examines the signed certificate received from My Web site, determines it to be authentic, and generates secret keys at both ends of the connection. Any information which is transferred online is encrypted prior to being sent to the server

 

For CBTS Clients this implies the following:

Desktop images, commands, and files which are passed between CBTS and the Client cannot be intercepted or altered by a third party during transmission across the internet. The client is guaranteed to work with the genuine CBTS web server instead of a scam server intended to replicate CBTS. To be able to generate an SSL link and prove its authenticity, any web server requires an SSL Certificate. In order to guarantee the transparency and safety of our technology CBTS’s development processes have been entirely authenticated by an authorized and reputable organization.

 

Code Signing Certificates

CBTS uses a Code Signing Certificate issued by the Comodo Certificate Authority. This Trusted Certification Authority is compatible with all Windows operating systems. In addition, to ensure protection and integrity of its software packages, CBTS relies on Microsoft Authenticode Technology. Authenticode is the mechanism which provides an end-user on with information about the developer of the program module downloaded from a web server. Software Source: Clients can confirm that the software package is authentic and comes directly from CBTS. Clients can verify that the software package has not been altered or corrupted since its End-users can verify that the software package has not been altered or corrupted since it was signed by CBTS. Furthermore, Authenticode guarantees that the browser plug-in installed on the computer is authentic, trustworthy, and that the code’s integrity is not compromised. In case of any 3rd party potentially tampering with the plug-in, the digital signature will break and alert the client of this intrusion.
